His great passion to lettering and calligraphy, infused with a diversive typographic expertise prompted him to start AvanType Foundry, that specializes in developing unique Arabic, Hebrew & Latin fonts. His typefaces attained several international awards, to name a few: The Type Directors Club in New York (years: 2003/2005/2008), “Bukva:Raz" by ATYPI (2002), The Adobe/Winsoft international Typographic contest (2010).
Habib is the only Arab Palestinian designer who was commissioned by The Philatelic Service Authority of Israel; hence he has designed over 22 stamps and philatelic labels and won the “People's Choice" of stamps annual contest (years: 2001/ 2003).
The Years 2001-2005 Habib provided Art-Direction and Creative services for a few Advertising Agencies in Tel-Aviv & Ramallah.
Habib was elected as a board member of The Israeli Community of Designers Between 2006-2008 .
Habib Khoury gained over 23 years of graphic craftsmanship with very diverse work experiences.
Habib Khoury started his design studies in 1986, at Tel Aviv Design Polytechnic, followed by a pioneer computer graphics course at The Film Arts School; Then he attended the faculty of graphic design at Wizo College- Haifa in 1988 for four years.
Habib established his studio- AvantDesign in 1992, while he was employed as Art Director at The Israeli Educational TV Channel.
In 1993 He was granted a scholarship to proceeded his studies at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in London, where he obtained a Master Degree and graduated with distinction.
Habib was appointed a senior Art Director at SRM -London where most of his work focused on the Asharq Al-Awsat Intl. Newspaper beside early designs for its website in 1995.
Between the years 1996-1998 Habib worked in New York, and co-founded Caféarabica - The first Social on-line Arab-American Community network.
